What Are the Odds

Someone dares you — you set the odds. Both of you count down and call a number simultaneously. If they match, the dare happens. Sounds simple, but there's genuine tension in that countdown moment, and people keep raising and lowering the odds to mess with each other.

How to Play

  1. 1

One player issues a challenge to another: 'What are the odds that you [do something silly/embarrassing]?'

  2. 2

The challenged player picks a number range — the higher the number, the lower the probability (e.g. '1 in 20' means a 5% chance). They can go as low as 1 in 2 or as high as 1 in 100.

  3. 3

On a countdown of three, both the challenger and the challenged simultaneously call out a number within that range.

  4. 4

If both players say the same number, the challenged player must do the dare.

  5. 5

If the numbers don't match, nothing happens and the game continues around the group.

  6. 6

Anyone can challenge anyone at any time — the game has no formal turns.
